Education
We strongly believe that education is the main factor for girl’s empowerment, prosperity, development and welfare. In our country girls, especially, in rural areas have to fight against the socially constructed gender biases and other issues. Girls need more strength to fight against such issues and they will gain real strengths only through quality education and social awareness. Towards this goal, we are supporting over 100 rural and tribal children in their education by way of scholarship, notebooks, book, uniform, evening coaching, computer education, guidance for higher studies and awareness programmes.
SKILL TRAINING:
We, at Grand Alliance Trust, firmly believe that skill training is a powerful tool against poverty and hunger, and for women empowerment. Skilled working women are more likely to be healthier, have higher earnings and exercise higher decision making power within the household and community. Evidences show that educated women and skilled working women are more likely to ensure their own children’s education thus breaking the cycle of poverty and hunger. Working women have the capacity to achieve their goals and create financial freedom for both they and their families and they are assets to the society as they are more innovative and can optimize resources in a better way. Since 2005, we have been providing various skill training to rural women and have successfully impacted the lives of over _____women.
LIVELIHOOD DEVELOPMENT
United Nations Organization says “Rural women are key agents for achieving the transformational economic, environmental and social changes required for sustainable development. But limited access to credit, health care and education are among the many challenges they face, which are further aggravated by the global food and economic crises and climate change. Empowering them is key not only to the well-being of individuals, families and rural communities, but also to overall economic productivity, given women’s large presence in the agricultural workforce worldwide”. As we know, Livelihoods are the capabilities, assets and activities required for people to earn money and secure a means of living. We train women in Madurai and Theni Districts in various vocations like__. We help them have access to fund capital and set up their own enterprises. We also connect the trained with specific skill sets to right opportunities in the MSME sector or corporate sectors.
